Team GO Rocket takes over Pokémon GO's Aug. 2024 Adventure Week

Pokémon GO has announced that the upcoming August 2024 Adventure Week will be “taken over” by Team Go Rocket. This event will occur from Thursday, August 8, at 12:00 a.m. to Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. local time.

A new Special Research story will be available at the beginning of this event. Progress through it to receive a Super Rocket Radar and chase down Giovanni! You can claim this Special Research until the end of Pokémon GO: Shared Skies on September 3, 2024, at 9:59 a.m. local time.

Save Shadow Lugia!

Shadow Lugia will return to Pokémon GO in Shadow Raids. Shadow Lugia will appear in five-star Shadow Raids from Saturday, August 10, to Sunday, August 11, 2024, local time. Shadow Suicune will not appear during the event.

• You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

Team GO Rocket Grunts—and their leaders, Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo—are using different Shadow Pokémon. In addition, Team GO Rocket has also turned the following Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon. Defeat Team GO Rocket Grunts to save them!

Pokémon rescued from Team GO Rocket Grunts may be Shiny Pokémon—if you’re lucky.
